What a joy it was to attend the VACC Show ‘n Shine in Bendigo on 22 September!
This event formed part of VACC Centennial celebrations, an opportunity for motor vehicle enthusiasts to showcase historical cars, commercial vehicles, trucks, motorcycles and vehicles of any make, model or vintage between 1918 and 2018.
One hundred different vehicles from 100 different years graced the streets of the City of Greater Bendigo on a perfect Spring day.
As a motoring enthusiast, I was one of the many thousands of people who flocked to the event. The quality of vehicles on show was exceptional and a tribute to the owners and their hard work.
The Americans made a strong showing – Buicks, Cadillacs, Chevrolet, Dodge, T-Birds and a Model T. We were also treated to a strong contingent of European models, from Austin 7’s and Aston Martin’s (including the original Bond car from ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’) to Bristol, Gilbern (Welsh), Lagonda and Riley, to name a few. As you might expect, Australia was well represented by classic Holdens and Fords.
With so many magnificently restored vehicles, it was hard to choose just a few favourites, but after serious consideration I have shared a few snaps. You might also enjoy this excellent video footage from the day – you can watch it here
Happy Motoring!
